Hi. I'm kinda new here...

Hey there. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kelli. I am married to my hubby, Jonathan. (you will see that I will refer to him as "My Hubby" or "Jon".) I have another blog that I post once in a blue moon, so I'm not such a newbie, but will hopefully be way more active on this one. This one is different, though. This one has a purpose. Anywho, a little about myself...I
 enjoy photography, hiking(duh), kayaking, fitness, exploring new places, finding heart shaped rocks (or anything heart shaped!), collecting keychains, shot glasses, stickers of any kind, but right now- all of the state parks (or anywher,e) we are hiking, being in the mountains, hanging with My Hubby, & hanging out in Blandford Cemetery. Yep. 

The purpose of THIS Blog, you ask?! Well that has to do with hiking. Along with mine & My Hubby's introduction to hiking thru out the years & all of the places I have drug him to...chasing something cool to photograph, whether it is an abandoned house, a cool bridge, a Virginia LOVE Sign, or a place to explore & of course, Hike. Even if it's in my own backyard....or farm. He just goes with it. I hope to update weekly. I hope to get to interact with you & build a community. We shall see.

So, please be patient while I am under construction. Don't forget to check back in the next couple weeks or my first actual blog post about hiking. I will do a post about Jon as well!! I can't wait to embark on this journey!

Just a story on how we got started hiking, & pictures from our first hike at a state park. My Hubby has always been an outdoorsman. He has hunted since he was 5 years old & probably came out of the womb with a fishing pole in his hand. I on the other hand grew up in the city, before moving to the country. (Which is where my other blog got started, about living in the country, after being born in the city). When I lived in the city, I would ride my bike or walk wherever I wanted to. Oh weren't we supposed to be hiking?!

So, after we went to Natural Bridge, we did some  traveling around Virginia & OBX. Going to The Eastern Shore & exploring places in our backyard.....or close to it. We also found a love of kayaking.  So we had found a love for kayaking with some friends of ours. I still love to kayak!! Life got in the way & we both had a couple of job changes. We even got to kayak in The Keys! What a fun experience! But after Covid hit, we really started to be outdoors more & that's when I found the Virginia State Parks Trail Quest. And we have started back hiking.  The first Park we hiked was Grayson Highlands in 2021. We have hike Grayson Highlands a few times.  It is our favorite park so far.
